In 2004 Dedrick Bullard, an impressionable 28 year old fitness trainer, was encouraged by a close friend to attend an audition. Reluctant, Dedrick attended the audition and got the part. This began a chain of events that lead Dedrick to find himself and to develop a new, confident identity known as Wasabi Jones. Wasabi Jones took the Memphis indie film scene by storm. This former ESPN strong man competitor found himself in high demand. Wasabi's chiseled/massive physique won him many roles, but to his disappointment most were stereotypical roles suited for a muscle bound he-man. Wasabi set out to change all of that. He changed his training methods to maintain his strength, yet cut back on his mass. His efforts help, but it is was his amazing talent and respect for acting that won him the roles he sought. Once people began to see his body of work and potential Wasabi became an actor on demand in the Memphis indie film scene. Not only is Wasabi an accomplished actor, but he is also recognized for his writing abilities.

In the past three years he has appeared in seven indie films, and various shorts, including Split Decision which took the Best Short Film Award at FABA (For Actors By Actors festival), a short he wrote and starred. Wasabi plays KaShaun in the Fox Television Pilot Southern Comfort. As part of a devious trio of thugs, KaShaun kidnaps Charlotte, played by Madeleine Stowe, for a meeting with a criminal boss, Studstill, played by Evan Park. Wasabi has also hosted the Last Train to Memphis festival, a TV festival on the library channel, produced by Ken Axmaker of Last Train to Memphis (LTTM). Wasabi has had a long working relationship with the Last Train to Memphis crew, so much so his name and face is synonymous with LTTM.
